Celebrating the Women of Country Music

a girl celebrating

The 53rd Annual CMA Awards makes headlines again as host of the award show, Carrie Underwood spoke to reporters about how the women of country music lift each other up, encourage one another, and continue to support not only women in the industry but all women.

The Bond Country Music Woman Have Runs Deep

Female country music stars are often harassed or not given the full credit they deserve when it comes to the quality of their music and the pay gap between male and female country music stars. Carrie Underwood has expressed that because of these setbacks female artists often face, country music stars have an unbreakable bond and are so supportive of each other. This year, the CMA Awards are celebrating the women of country music.

This news hit as Carrie Underwood was confirmed as the only female country music star out of five to be nominated for Entertainer of the Year award. Good friend and fellow country music star Miranda Lambert praised Underwood for her work in the industry.

“To me, Entertainer of the Year is who’s represented the genre in every way the best for that year. It was just kinda haunting me, I really felt compelled to say something. Watching Carrie host the CMAs pregnant, and also do the [Sunday] Night Football campaign, and also have a brand, and also work with charity, and be a wife, and be a mother, and then host with two legendary country artists … I just know how much work that is.”1

Miranda Lambert’s comments just go to show that this bond among women in country music runs deep.1
