Cowboy Chic is in for Fall 2014

As the summer kicks off into full swing, it’s time to start thinking about planning your wardrobe for fall. According to the top opinions in fashion here in the US (which are on display twice a year in New York City), fall 2014 is all about cowboy chic and Americana style. Huge labels like Alexander Wang and Cushnie et Ochs were seen sending models down the runway bedecked in western motifs. Think fringe scarves, equestrian riding boots, oversized cowboy hats, denim jackets, blanket coats, and more.

The trends aren’t just here in the US either—even world famous French fashion house Chanel has decided to “go west” for the fall and they held their December show in Dallas, Texas.

This fall, expect plenty of cowboy chic in the form of western-inspired prints, such as gingham, plaid, and houndstooth, all in au courant bright colors. In conjunction with the modern take on these classic trends, models were seen on many runways with classic ladylike accessories, so be prepared to pair your plaid with a string of pearls.
