On Friday, March 27, 2020, Joe Diffie tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19). Unfortunately, due to coronavirus complications, the Grammy-winner passed away Sunday, March 29, 2020, at the age of 61. Joe Diffie urged fans to take the novel virus seriously, to be cautious. Our western wear family at Sheplers is deeply saddened by the news and are remembering Joe Diffie with this tribute.

The Top Joe Diffie Songs

As an icon in the music industry since the 90s, there is no better way to honor this incredibly talented singer without reminiscing about his top country songs.1 Joe Diffie was a member of the Grand Ole Opry for over 20 years and was a legend among country music fans. To keep his spirit alive, listen to his crisp, sensational voice echoed in these top Joe Diffie songs.

1. Home

Joe Diffie’s debut single “Home,” about having your home stuck in your memory, regardless of where you were raised, became a #1 hit on the Billboard charts in 1990. Your home will always hold a special place in your heart. Joe Diffie sure sings his heart out on this ballad, especially in the line, “wrapped up in my memories of home.”

2. Pickup Man

“Pickup Man” was Joe Diffie’s longest-lasting number one hit about a man who believes he can meet the woman of his dreams by merely driving a pickup truck. From December 1994 until January 1995, it spent four weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot Country Singles and Tracks, which is now known as Hot Country Songs.

3. Bigger Than The Beatles

His last number one song was “Bigger Than The Beatles,” the lead single from the album “Life’s So Funny” in 1995. “Bigger Than The Beatles” tells the story about a couple with dreams of stardom whose love is better than fame, “ ‘cause when the lights go down on tinsel town, all you need is love.”

Joe Diffie’s Fashion Style

The incredibly talented singer was also known for his casual, relaxed fashion style. During most of his concerts, you would find him wearing classic blue jeans and basic black t-shirts or a button-down long-sleeve shirt in a solid color or plaid print.

You can replicate Joe Diffie’s western wear at your favorite country fashion store. Pair the Roper Men’s Amarillo Collection Solid Long Sleeve Western Shirt with the Hawx Men’s Black Pocket Crew Short Sleeve Work T-Shirt underneath. Finish off the look with Cinch Jeans – White Label Relaxed Fit Medium Stonewash and your favorite dark leather boots.

While practicing proper health guidelines and preventing the spread of COVID-19 in self-quarantine, check out Sheplers for the latest western wear trends. While Joe Diffie’s fashion style was more on the comfortable side, he always dressed up every outfit up with a guitar.

Joe Diffie’s wife, Tara, left a beautiful tribute to her late husband on his official Instagram account.

Our Sheplers family and the entire country music fanbase will continue remembering Joe Diffie and will never stop playing his honky-tonk tunes.
