Believe it or not, September rodeos are a big deal all across the United States. From Labor Day celebration rodeos to state fairs, we know just the places for you to visit.

Ellensburg Rodeo

When: Late August – Early September
Where: Ellensburg, Washington

Ellensburg rodeo started as a local competition in 1923 and has grown into a renowned professional rodeos today. There can be upwards of 500 or more contestants and awards can be as extravagant as a prize purse of $250,000. Watch the best professional riders, ropers, and wrestlers or join the pros and compete for the great prize.

Pendleton Round-Up

What to Wear: Since this is one of the largest September rodeos and has been around since 1910, you should go full out in country western garb. Think classic felt cowboy hat, blue jeans, a western shirt and of course cowboy boots.

Silver Spurs Rodeo

When: Late September
Where: Kissimmee, Florida

Ranked as one of the top 50 events by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), the September rodeo showcases bull riding, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, and barrel racing, daredevils, and cowboy clowns.
What to Wear: Ever been to Orlando in September? If you haven’t, I am sorry to break this to you, but yes, it is still hot and humid. To beat the heat, we recommend a short-sleeved graphic T-shirt for men and a light cowboy hat to block out the sun. Women can keep cool in a flowy western dress such as our Flying Tomato Women’s Ivory Lace Wrap Short Sleeve Dress.
