Did you know that you may be accidentally ruining your favorite pair of jeans from Sheplers?
While you most certainly may not be meaning to do so, by throwing your jeans in the washing machine every time after you wear them, you are destroying their shape and color. Denim expert Chip Bergh, CEO of Levi Strauss & Co., says of his own jeans, “these jeans are maybe a year old and these have yet to see a washing machine.”
Bergh goes onto say that “if you talk to real denim aficionados, they tell you don’t wash your blue jeans.”
But if you can’t wash your jeans from Sheplers, then how are you supposed to keep them clean? Here are some alternative ways to make sure your jeans stay fresh from the Levi’s master himself:
- Eliminate odor by spritzing jeans with white vinegar or vodka and then hanging them out to dry.
- Freeze your jeans once a month to kill off the smell caused by bacteria.
- Turn your jeans inside out and then freeze them for two days at a time.
